TD Greystone Infrastructure Strategy Joins GRESB for 2019 Participation in the GRESB-Infrastructure Benchmark
REGINA, [April 22], 2019 – We are proud to announce that the TD Greystone Infrastructure Strategy has joined GRESB as the first Canadian Infrastructure Fund Manager Member.
GRESB provides Environmental, Social and Governance (“ESG”) benchmarks for real assets. In 2018 GRESB assessed 903 real estate funds and property companies, 75 infrastructure funds, 280 infrastructure assets and 25 debt portfolios. More than 80 institutional investors use GRESB data and analytical tools to engage with investment managers to enhance and protect shareholder value. GRESB Investor Members represent over USD $18 trillion in institutional capital.
Joining GRESB to participate in the GRESB-Infrastructure Benchmark is the next step in the progression towards our goal of implementing best-in-class ESG practices. Our ESG policy and its implementation is fundamental to our investment process. We believe it leads to enhanced risk adjusted returns and better outcomes for our clients while ensuring compliance with TD Greystone Asset Management’s (“TD Greystone”) goals of being an ESG conscious investment management firm.
Ted Welter, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer, Alternative Investments at TD Greystone said, “The TD Greystone Infrastructure team continues to build on our firm’s commitment to ESG, and in particular our Alternative Investments strategies. As a UNPRI signatory, TD Greystone is committed to upholding principles of responsible investing and has implemented sustainability policies across asset classes. Our Real Estate strategy has been a GRESB member since 2016 and we are excited about this next step for the TD Greystone Infrastructure Strategy.”
“ESG is particularly important when investing in infrastructure assets as they are intimately tied to their local economies and communities,” said Jeff Mouland, Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure Investments. “We continue to be committed to high ESG standards throughout our portfolio to ensure positive impacts for our clients, stakeholders, employees, and partners.”
We are delighted to welcome the TD Greystone Infrastructure Strategy as our first Canadian Infrastructure Fund Manager Member,” says Neil Pegram, Director of Americas at GRESB. “We commend TD Greystone for their commitment to incorporate sustainability into their operations and communicate their performance to investors.”
