TD completes acquisition of Greystone Capital Management Inc.

November 1, 2018

We are pleased to announce that The Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) has completed the acquisition of Greystone Capital Management Inc. (“GCMI”), parent company of Greystone Managed Investments Inc. ("Greystone") that was initially announced in July 2018. Going forward Greystone will operate and serve clients under TD Greystone Asset Management with offices in Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto and Hong Kong.

We are very excited about joining forces and bringing traditional and private market investments together to stay one step ahead of clients’ needs. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Regina, Greystone has a 30-year history as an established institutional money manager led by experienced professionals offering innovative investment solutions. Greystone has a proven suite of multi-asset class solutions with a specialty in real estate, infrastructure and mortgages.

With the addition of Greystone, the asset management businesses of TD will provide one of the broadest offerings of investment solutions in Canada. This will help meet clients’ needs in all market conditions.

TD Asset Management (TDAM) and Greystone share compatible cultures focused on a commitment to our clients and our community, as well as complementary investment disciplines focused on delivering better risk-adjusted returns.

With this transaction, TD will add Greystone's $35.6 billion in assets under management to their existing $355.7 billion under management, bringing the pro forma total to approximately $391.3 billion in assets under management. The completion of this transaction makes TDAM combined with Greystone, the largest money manager in Canada.
